JOAN DOANE WINS THE HARRY DALE LITERARY GRANT FOR ASPIRING WRITERS!

Joan Doane, member of the Brampton Northwest Steering Committee, is the very proud winner of the 2013 Harry Dale Literary Grant for Aspiring Writers from the Brampton Arts Council.

Joan was presented with the award at the Mayor’s Luncheon for the Arts on September 17, 2013.

Joan, a humorous short story writer, says of her accomplishment,
“I’m so proud to have won this award and I’m looking forward to working with my mentors over the coming year. It’s not only going to be interesting but I think it’s also going to be a lot of fun. The people I’ve met so far have been wonderful. By this time next year, I hope that I can say I’m not only an award winner but a published author as well!.”
