(General Notice) Mount Pleasant Outdoor Skating Rink is Now Open Daily 10am – 10pm, Weather Permitting. Change Rooms are not available at this location, benches are provided around the Skating Rink for changing skates. A concession stand is available on Friday’s 6pm-9pm, Saturday & Sunday’s 11:00 am - 9:00 pm.
(General Notice) Saturday mornings (throughout the year) - English Creole - Exploring African/Caribbean Culture through the Arts. Kindergarten to Grade 8. Offers students the opportunity of learning more about the African and Caribbean culture through the ARTS. The classes have a variety of in-class instruction and fun based activities such as: dance, story-telling, art, music, drama, singing and public speaking, just to name a few. An invaluable skill set as students continue to contribute great things to the Canadian tapestry of cultures as well as the rest of the world. Cost is $25.00 per student/per year. Offered in our area at Fletcher's Meadow Secondary School on Saturdays from 9:00AM to 12PM. (Also offered at Calderstone Middle School in Brampton, and at Morning Star Middle School in Mississauga.) This program is provided by the Peel District School Board through the Continuing & Adult Education Department International Languages Classes. This program is open to ALL residents. Students in Kindergartent to Grade 8 from our public and Catholic schools are welcome to attend. The evening promises magnificent presentations from aspiring and talented young writers and music composers, as they share their original poems, short stories, essays, skits, songs, and musical compositions. Writers are encouraged to not only present in English, but also in other languages of their preference and proficiency. Mar 17 - Spring Break Babysitting Course at Mount Pleasant Village Library Branch - This one-day course (9:30AM to 4:30PM), for 11 to 14 year olds, teaches babysitting, leadership, and first aid skills in a fun and informative way. Facilitated by St John Ambulance, this is also an excellent program for teaching emergency skills to students who are occasionally alone at home. Certificate issued upon completion. Course cost is $40. Register in person beginning February 6 at any location
